Simply put, we think the shirt makes the man – and the woman. That’s why a proper fit, when it comes to personal style, is of the utmost importance. (Now you can see why we’re so passionate about how ours fit.) Here are a few, rather important, elements to consider when finding the right shirt fit.
Slim-fitting shirts should sit just along the body but not too tightly. If the shoulder width is too narrow, you’ll notice it’s rather uncomfortable to move about.
Perhaps the most important feature of a properly fitting shirt. Often times, the sleeve is just slightly too short (those few centimeters can really make a difference). However, long sleeves can look just as ill-fitting, so be on the lookout for both.
A good rule of thumb? You should be able to completely button your collar and not feel short of breath.
Your buttoned cuff should provide just enough space for your favorite watch (or bracelet). Remember, it’s better that the cuff is too large rather than too small. On our men shirts, the cuff is adjustable.
Assuming that your waist is narrower than your chest and hips, it should hit at the right height. (Style side note: for our women’s shirts, we design them with a sewn-in waist to give that hourglass shape.)
