Born in a Bushwick, Brooklyn loft in the early summer of 2008, The Brooklyn Salsa Company originally operated as an underground taco delivery service. Now they've taken their DIY roots to the jar, blending craft batch salsa with Direct Trade, Local Source, and Organically Farmed ingredients. The meticulous selection of their produce is based on the climate and health of the soil they’re grown in, the people that grow them, and the explosive flavor of each heirloom tomato, pepper, onion, and stalk of cilantro that is used. BKYRD Bison Burger

1 jar GANT Rugger Salsa

1 yellow onion

1 black heirloom Tomato

4 lettuce leaves

2-3 pinches Pepper

1.5lb grass fed ground Bison

1 large Eggplant

4 large Sesame buns

1 tbsp Olive oil

2-3 pinches Sea salt

This is how your do it:

1. Find a backyard where you and your friends can fire up a smoky grill. Pour charcoal in your grill and light it. Give it 45 mins to an  hour, or until the coals are red hot. While that’s heating up break

the bison up in a large bowl and pour in the Rugger Salsa. Mash together with a pinch of salt and pepper.

2. Take a swig of your favorite bottled beverage and slice the onion, eggplant and tomatoes crosswise into 1/3-inch-thick slices. Rub with 1 tablespoon olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper.

3. Once the coals are piping hot grill the onions and eggplant, turning once, until softened, about 8 minutes. Set the tomatoes aside. Grill the burgers, turning once, until grill marks appear, 6 to 8 minutes total for medium rare. Set aside to rest while you toast the buns.

4. Once the buns are nice and toasty, take off and start stacking.  Burger goes on the bottom and the rest is up to you.  TAKE THE LID OFF @bksalsa
